Testing Services

BEST administers placement exams in mathematics and foreign languages to thousands of incoming first-year and other undergraduates each year. These include placement exams in Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian, and Spanish.

As of August 21, 2023, BEST will no longer serve as a test administration site for the SAT, GRE, PRAXIS, LSAT, or other national exams. For information on where to register and take these exams, please see the resources below.

As of September 1, 2013, the Indiana Department of Education requires the Indiana Core Academic Skills Assessment (CASA) – Reading, Math, and Writing Subtests for admission to teacher education programs in Indiana. The CASA replaces the PRAXIS I, which is no longer being accepted for admission to teacher education programs in Indiana. PRAXIS II subject area assessments will continue to be accepted for teacher licensure until new subject area assessments are introduced by the new testing vendor.
